"From Birth, man carries a thousand ideas, the weight of gravity on his shoulders. He is bolted to earth. One turns out to be good, and he is free. But man only has to sink beneath the surface, I am satisfied."

"Shadow as a Threshold"
I have considered book one relevant to my design. Shadows act as many things, often altering the meaning and relevance of particular aspects of the design. However, the shadow as the threshold conveys particular importance to the clients of my design, as scientists often look for new entries of thresholds into discovery. An experiment results in a conclusion, observation and success. The threshold begins this. Thus, the shadow as a threshold open new world of discovery, success and failures. As stated in the slide “the shadow threshold is a dynamic place, being spaces between past and future, life and death, known and the unknown.” Through this discovery, one learns significant information about themselves and the space around them. Correspondingly a scientist would do the same, as an experiment allows them to learn and question, subsequently furthering their knowledge.
